Any individual, civil society member, company, or other legal entity may submit a petition concerning the ethical or financial integrity of a subject. To ensure effectiveness, petitions should be submitted prior to the subject’s hearing, which are announced on the Commission’s website and social media pages. A subject was already heard if the recording of his hearing is uploaded on the Commission website available here:
Hearings - Vetting CommissionPetitions may include information and preferably evidence about unjustified wealth or tax violations (financial integrity), as well as ethical violations such as conflicts of interest, undue influence attempts,
ex parte communication, or other violations of ethical or professional conduct.
Petitions may also refer to arbitrary decisions issued by the subjects contrary to the mandatory norms of the law, and where the European Court of Human Rights established, prior to the adoption of the act, that a similar decision was contrary to the European Convention on Human Rights. However, the petition should not be based solely on dissatisfaction with the judicial outcome. The Commission does not rule on the legality of the acts issued by the subjects.
The notifications submitted during the evaluation procedure will be attached to the evaluation file of the person concerned. The evaluated individual will have access to the full text of the notification, including, by implication, any identifying information it contains, in accordance with their right to access their own file.
