Civil society representative Ana Zabulica was interviewed by the Vetting Commission as a candidate for the position of member of the Selection and Evaluation Board of Judges of the Superior Council of Magistracy. The hearing took place in the context of the assessment of the candidate's financial and ethical integrity, which was conducted under the provisions of Law 26/2022, rules subordinate to the law and other regulations.
After analyzing the information gathered in the evaluation process, the Commission did not identify any doubts requiring further discussion at the hearing. All issues related to the verification of the candidate's integrity were fully clarified in the written communication and in the interaction with the candidate. During the interview, Ana Zabulica was asked to confirm the accuracy and validity of the information presented in the statements, the ethics questionnaire and in the answers provided to the Commission during the assessment.
The Vetting Commission will issue a reasoned decision on passing or failing the evaluation.
📜The evaluation of candidates for the positions of members in the self-administration bodies of judges is carried out based on the following principles:
a) independence of the Evaluation Commission;
b) fairness of the evaluation procedure;
c) publicity of the acts issued in the evaluation process;
d) exceptional nature of the evaluation.
