Hearing of Ștefan Starciuc, candidate to the Superior Council of Magistracy

Judge Ștefan Starciuc from the Comrat Court of Appeal is running for the position of member of the Superior Council of Magistracy representing the courts of appeal. The Commission invited the judge for the hearing as part of the external evaluation of the candidate's financial and ethical integrity, conducted under the provisions of Law 26/2022, its subordinate regulations, and other normative acts.

During the hearing, the Commission members asked the candidate clarifying questions regarding inexplicable wealth in 2011 - 2013, 2015 and 2018, years falling within the assessment period.

The Vetting Commission will issue a reasoned decision on passing or failing the evaluation.

📜The evaluation of candidates for the positions of members in the self-administration bodies of judges is carried out based on the following principles:

a) independence of the Evaluation Commission;

b) fairness of the evaluation procedure;

c) publicity of the acts issued in the evaluation process;

d) exceptional nature of the evaluation.
