Hearing of Eugeniu Beșelea, candidate for the Selection and Evaluation Board of Judges of the SCM

Judge Eugeniu Beșelea from the Chișinău Court was heard by the Vetting Commission as a candidate for a position on the Selection and Evaluation Board of Judges within the Superior Council of Magistracy (SCM). The Commission invited him for the hearing in the context of the external evaluation of the candidate's financial and ethical integrity, conducted under the provisions of Law 26/2022, subordinate regulations, and other normative acts.

During the hearing of Eugeniu Beșelea, the Commission addressed questions regarding the candidate's eligibility for the program aimed at obtaining an apartment at a preferential price.

The Vetting Commission will issue a reasoned decision on passing or failing the evaluation.

📜The evaluation of candidates for the positions of members in the self-administration bodies of judges is carried out based on the following principles:

a) independence of the Evaluation Commission;

b) fairness of the evaluation procedure;

c) publicity of the acts issued in the evaluation process;

d) exceptional nature of the evaluation.
