Meeting regarding the hearing of Supreme Court Justice judge, Mariana Ursachi (Pitic)

Mariana Ursachi (formerly Pitic) is a judge of the Supreme Court of Justice and is being evaluated by the Vetting Commission under Law 65/2023, which regulates the external evaluation of judges and candidates for the position of judge of the Supreme Court of Justice.

Since the judge did not appear at the scheduled hearing, the Commission, pursuant to Article 15 para. (2) of Law no. 65/2023, will finalize her assessment on the basis of the information gathered. The Commission will approve a report which will contain the relevant facts, the reasons and the proposal to pass or not to pass the evaluation.

📜The evaluation of the Supreme Court of Justice judges and of candidates for the position of judge of the Supreme Court of Justice is carried out based on the following principles:

a) independence of the Evaluation Commission;

b) fairness of the evaluation procedure;

c) publicity of the acts issued in the evaluation process;

d) exceptional nature of the evaluation.
