Integrity assessment begins for five additional candidates for judge at the Central Court of Appeal

The Judicial Vetting Commission has notified five more judges from first-level courts regarding the initiation of their integrity assessment as candidates for the position of judge at the Central Court of Appeal.

By the Decision of the Superior Council of Magistracy (SCM) regarding the organization of the competition for filling the vacant positions of judge at the Central Court of Appeal, the SCM has designated the winners of the competition as follows:

  • Roman Pascari – Judge, Chișinău Court
  • Elena Bolocan – Judge, Chișinău Court
  • Diana Corlăteanu – Judge, Hîncești Court, Ialoveni Office
  • Violeta Gîrleanu – Judge, Chișinău Court
  • Natalia Mămăligă – Judge, Chișinău Court

The SCM has submitted the list of selected judges to the Judicial Vetting Commission to initiate the process of assessing their financial and ethical integrity, in accordance with Law 252/2023 on the external evaluation of judges and prosecutors. The Commission has formally notified the five candidates, marking the official start of their evaluation upon receipt of these notifications.

As part of the process, candidates have been provided with the following documents for completion:

  • Ethics Questionnaire

Declaration of assets and personal interests for 5 years, along with a Declaration of close persons (combined in a single form)

  • A sample declaration form pre-filled with fictitious data

Candidates must submit the completed documents to the Judicial Vetting Commission within 10 days from the date of notification.

At present, a total of 13 judges from first-instance courts are undergoing the evaluation process for vacancies at the Courts of Appeal.
