Dumitru Racoviță, a candidate for the Evaluation and Selection Board for Judges within the Superior Council of Magistracy (SCM), passed the evaluation of the Vetting Commission. According to the Commission, judge Dumitru Racoviță, from the Ungheni Court, meets the criteria of financial and ethical integrity provided for in Law 26/2022, under which he was evaluated.
The decision of the Vetting Commission was sent to the candidate and to the SCM, the institution responsible for organizing the competition, in this case. The result of the evaluation was published on the Commission's website www.vettingmd.eu. Meanwhile, the candidate notified the Commission's Secretariat that he does not oppose the publication of the decision. The decision can be consulted HERE.
In the competition to fill the vacancies in the Evaluation and Selection Board for Judges of the SCM, 13 candidates applied and were submitted to the Vetting Commission for evaluation. Of these, one candidate withdrew. Out of the remaining 12 in the competition, four have already participated in hearings, including Dumitru Racoviță, while decisions regarding the other three candidates who were heard are pending.
Candidates to the SCM and its Boards, entered in the competition after 1 September 2023, are evaluated by the Vetting Commission, as established by Law 252/2023 on external evaluation of judges and prosecutors.
