Eight judges aspiring to positions at the Courts of Appeal have been officially notified about the initiation of the vetting procedure. The evaluation process will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of Law 252/2023 and is similar to the process of evaluating sitting judges at the Courts of Appeal.
For the Court of Appeal Center (previously Chișinău Court of Appeal), the Judicial Vetting Commission have notified the following judges: Andrei Cașcaval, Vitalie Budeci, Constantin Roșca, Serghei Dimitriu, Eleonora Badan-Melnic, Grigore Manoli, and Gheorghe Stratulat. Additionally, for the Court of Appeal North (previously Bălți Court of Appeal), Judge Ivan Parii has been notified.
The notifications sent to the candidates include the following documents, which shall be completed and submitted to the Commission: the Declaration of Assets and Personal Interests, updated with data for the last 5 years; the Declaration regarding the list of close persons in the judiciary, the prosecution, and the public service, consolidated into a single form; and the Ethics Questionnaire.
The Vetting Commission has set a deadline of 10 days for the submission of the declarations and the questionnaire. This 10-day period is calculated from the date the notification is sent by email. The Commission will use electronic mail for communication with the subjects of the evaluation throughout the entire process. After the submission of the initial documents, the next phase will involve the collection of relevant information for the evaluation.
