The Judicial Vetting Commission has completed the evaluation of magistrates Angela Braga and Alexandru Spoială from the Central Court of Appeal (formerly the Chișinău Court of Appeal) and has submitted its reports to the Superior Council of Magistracy (SCM), recommending that both judges pass the integrity evaluation. The SCM is now tasked with reviewing the evaluation results and deciding whether to approve or reject the reports.
The reports, approved unanimously by the members of the two panels that conducted the evaluation, have also been forwarded to the judges concerned. These evaluations are part of the integrity verification process for certain categories of judges, in accordance with the provisions of Law 252/2023.
Details on the evaluation process
Judge Angela Braga was assessed by Panel A of the Commission, which included members Andrei Bivol, Lavly Perling, and Lilian Enciu. The evaluation of Judge Alexandru Spoială was conducted by Panel B, composed of Scott Bales, Willem Brouwer, and Iurie Gațcan. Both judges participated in the February hearing round.
At this stage, the reports are not published. Only the evaluation results are made public on the website of the Judicial Vetting Commission, under the "Subjects" section.
