Commission recommends failure in integrity evaluation for a Central Court of Appeal Judge

2025-04-10

The Judicial Vetting Commission has completed the evaluation of Judge Marina Anton from the Central Court of Appeal and submitted its report to the Superior Council of Magistracy (SCM). The report includes a recommendation for failure of the external evaluation, as the Commission found that the judge does not meet the integrity criteria established by law.

The SCM will review the evaluation report and decide whether to accept or reject it. The result of the evaluation has been published on the Commission’s website under the “Subjects” section. The full report will be published within three days following the expiration of the appeal period for the decision of the SCM, or after the Supreme Court of Justice either dismisses a potential appeal or renders a final decision confirming the outcome of the evaluation, whether passed or failed.

To date, out of the 18 sitting judges of the Central Court of Appeal subject to external evaluation under Law 252/2023:

  • 7 judges have received recommendations for passing the evaluation from the Commission, and the reports have been forwarded to the SCM for review;
  • 3 judges have received a proposal for failure of the evaluation, with reports sent to the SCM;
  • 8 evaluation reports are currently in the process of being drafted.
