SCM candidate, Sergiu Băieșu, passed the external evaluation

Attorney Sergiu Băieșu, nominated by the Parliament as a candidate for the position of member of the Superior Council of Magistracy (SCM) from among non-judges, passed the Vetting Commission's evaluation. According to the Commission, he meets the criteria of financial and ethical integrity laid down in Law26/2022, under which he was evaluated.

Today, the Vetting Commission sent its reasoned decision to the candidate and to the Parliament, which is the institution responsible for organizing the competition. The evaluation result has been published on the Commission's website. The candidate shall inform the Commission whether he agrees with the publication of the decision. If there is no such notification, the decision will be published on the Vetting Commission’s website.

Candidates to the SCM and SCM boards, entered in the competition after 1 September 2023, are evaluated by the Vetting Commission, as established by Law 252/2023 on external evaluation of judges and prosecutors.
