Vetting Commission publishes report on the evaluation of candidate Viorica Puica for the position of judge at the Supreme Court of Justice

According to the conclusion of the report of the Vetting Commission, Viorica Puica meets the criteria of ethical and financial integrity established in Law 65/2023. The report was unanimously approved by the members of the Commission, after collecting, accumulating, and verifying relevant information, as well as subsequent deliberations.  

Yesterday, the Superior Council of Magistracy examined the evaluation results and accepted the Commission's proposal to promote the candidate.

Viorica Puica has been a judge since 2002 when she began her activity at the Chisinau Court, Botanica Office. In 2023, she was temporarily transferred to the Supreme Court of Justice, where she served as interim president between August and November 2023. On 24 November 2023, the Superior Council of Magistracy appointed Viorica Puica as a judge at the Constitutional Court for a term of six years, but she retained her candidacy for the position of SCJ judge.
