November 27 - Invitation to public hearings as part of the vetting process for the Supreme Court of Justice

On Monday, 27 November, the Vetting Commission is organizing public hearings as part of the evaluation of judges of the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) and candidates for the position of judge of the SCJ. The hearings will concern two candidates and an acting SCJ judge.

Hearing Schedule:

• 9:45 am – Sergiu BRIGAI, candidate for the position of judge of the SCJ
• 10:30 am – Viorica PUICA, candidate for the position of judge of the SCJ
• 11:15 am – Aliona MIRON, acting SCJ judge

Location:

Superior Council of Magistracy (SCM), 5 M. Eminescu Street, Chișinău

Participation details:

Civil society, media representatives, and the general public are invited to attend by notifying the Commission’s Secretariat in advance at the email address secretariat@vettingmd.eu, until Friday, 24 November, 3:00 PM. Notifications  will specify the participant's name, surname, and the represented organization, if applicable.

·        Third parties who attend the hearings will adhere to the established order of procedures.

·        They will not be allowed to film, broadcast live, or photograph in the hearing room.

·        The hearings will be recorded by audio and video means by the organizers.

·        The Secretariat of the Commission will provide interested journalists with photos taken during the hearings.

·        After the conclusion of the hearings, video recordings in Romanian and English will be available on the Commission's website: www.vettingmd.eu and on the Commission's YouTube channel.
